Support Us

Dear Friends,

Help us today, change lives tomorrow.

Each day, DIC’s dedicated professionals rise early in the morning to provide critical services to children with special needs at more than 180 K-12 schools, Head Starts, and Early Childhood Centers.  Each day, these caring staff do their absolute best to prepare the children they are treating to realize their full potential in life.

The vast majority of the children served by DIC are from underserved families frequently unable to provide for therapeutic services on their own, services associated with conditions such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, Sensory Processing Disorder, and Speech Language Impairment.

As a service to the community, we also offer an annual free summer program that helps children in need of Speech and Occupational Therapy when school is not in session.  In addition, we have developed a Trauma Informed Care program that both trains and counsels teachers, staff, and families at our partner schools to help them recognize and respond to the many forms of childhood trauma.

As always, our ability to continue serving children with special needs and their families across Detroit and Southeast Michigan depends on the generosity of community members like you.  This year, as we embark on our second 100 years of serving the special needs community, I am asking that you join me in making a gift to the “100 for 100 Campaign” by giving a gift of $100 (or any multiple thereof) or increasing your last gift by $100.

Help us today, change lives tomorrow.

With all best wishes,

Roxanne Brinkerhoff

Chief Executive Officer
